Hyundai Motor Company’s award-winning IONIQ 5 recently made headlines by participating in a remarkable GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS
title attempt for the Greatest altitude change by an electric car. This ambitious event, organized by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), featured a professional team from Evo India driving the Hyundai IONIQ 5 to achieve an impressive altitude change of 5,802 meters.
The journey kicked off at Umling La in Leh Ladakh, the highest drivable point in India, standing at 5,799 meters above sea level, and concluded in Kuttanad, Kerala, which rests three meters below sea level. Over the span of 14 days, the team covered more than 4,900 kilometers, facing challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions along the way. This incredible feat showcased the resilience, cutting-edge technology, and outstanding performance of the Hyundai IONIQ 5.
Throughout the adventure, the IONIQ 5 proved itself as a leader in electric mobility, skillfully navigating harsh environments—from icy temperatures and steep mountain passes in the Himalayas to the humid coastal areas of Kerala.
