MN2S is one of the UK’s leading talent agencies, and has taken an unconventional approach to talent management and booking, shaking up the talent industry. At the helm of their unconventional approach is their digital strategy, and MN2S made a point years ago to adopt digital technology sooner rather than later.
While the other agencies were relying on traditional methods of marketing, Managing Director Sharron Elkabas knew the importance of staying ahead of the curve and took MN2S online, showcasing their roster of talent on the web, effectively securing inbound brand partnerships.
Even the story of MN2S separates them from the rest. In 1995, MN2S started as a DJ agency, focusing on club nights and events in electronic music. It was during those years that house music was coming from the U.S. to the UK, and the agency quickly expanded beyond its initial offerings to manage artists.
MN2S recently launched their latest podcast, MN2S Spotlight, available on Spotify, Apple and all the leading podcast platforms. It features music legends reminiscent of the 90s and beyond, from the likes of Penny Ford, Fatman Scoop and Mica Paris. MN2S Spotlight aims to showcase the diverse roster of talent working with MN2S.
Managing Director Sharron Elkabas says he’s fortunate for his nearly 30 years in the talent management space.
While the industry is constantly changing, Elkabas has no plans on slowing down any time soon. In fact, he’s looking forward to changes in the industry like the adoption of artificial intelligence, which he believes will change the way people hire talent. Rather than hiring the talent to travel to and from shoots, brands will be able to pay to use the likeness of that talent instead.
Elkabas was initially drawn to AI because of his constant desire to stay ahead of the curve. Not only has adopting technology early been essential to the success of MN2S, but incorporating new technology also excites Elkabas due to its limitless potential.
“Since the beginning of my career, I have always kept an ear to the ground for technological advancements. Artificial intelligence and machine learning is something that has been bubbling in the background for many years, though it’s only recently broken into the zeitgeist through tools like DALL-E and ChatGPT,” says Elkabas.
When it comes to shaping the future of the talent industry, Elkabas says it’s important to understand what the world is focused on. It’s essential to adopt and integrate new technologies and ideas as soon as possible. The sooner you get ahead of the curve and begin to test things, the sooner you have the process down and a new viable technology or product you can implement to influence the industry as a whole.
For Elkabas, it’s all about making the experience better for everyone. The MN2S ethos is about being approachable, fast and direct in relationships with customers, and creating beneficial partnerships for everyone. If artificial intelligence and new technologies make that possible, it’s even better.
“The entire process will become more efficient,” says Elkabas.
“It will make life easier for agencies and save on a variety of costs. Often, the most difficult aspect of any brand partnership is figuring out the logistics and scheduling. It’s about getting people to the right place at the right time. AI will streamline everything, allowing agencies to simply email over a few contracts and authorize the use of a digital double.”
